I am working on updating these pages with more pictures and text about my 1957 Barbour 19' Silver Clipper, and perhaps a couple of California Barbours if I can cajole Andrew!

My latest project boat is a 1957 Barbour 19' Silver Clipper which will see water this Spring (2006).

And the 1959 19' Hardtop which will be next on my list to restore (finally, the pics!)

OK, you all watch Custom Cars, and Boyd Coddington is an arrogant prick. We all know that.
Do any of you care about customising vintage wooden boats?
Are they too rare to waste?
Here's my idea:Take this Barbour Hardtop (one of only two that I know of) and customise it.
Is that 'woodbutchery'? It looks all wrong, to me. A lot of wasted space.

There's a major update in the Barbour Restoration page 7/26/99. I have just uploaded 20 pics of the new bottom going on, I hope you enjoy them. I'll be restoring above the waterline this spring. Look for the pics around April 2000.

I'll load pics asap now that I'm back in action here. Major heart surgery slowed me down for a while, but things are heading in the right direction.

I received so many photos of other Barbour Boats , two new ones added 4/24/99, I decided to post some of them for others to enjoy. I have some more to add, so check back in a few days.
At least most of you now sign in at the guestbook; It helps me to follow up on info requests, etc. My thanks to all who signed in and left compliments and insults. Remember folks - Shit Happens.

Over the years I've owned and operated several Wooden Boats including a 1960 18'Lyman which was a blast - see "Classic Boating" issue #67 page 4.(I haven't found their web page yet). Here's how the repairs looked before paint was applied: click me!

I've also restored several other Wooden runabouts and utilities for customers. Feel free to contact me benren at mhcable.com Double check your email when you click that. Change the address manually if you have to! >>remove the 'at' and replace it with @. I detest SPAMBOTS.
In a worst case situation, click File>View>PageSource and then scroll through all the codes to get to the email address.

If you want more info, I'll do what I can to help you with these wonderful little boats.

If any of you are interested in setting up your own dot-com I strongly recommend fluidhosting.com. These folks are just unbelievable in their response time.
DO NOT under any circumstances use Register - dot- com. They are inordinately slow replying to customer requests and IMO totally unworthy of payment for any of their services.
